ATELIER VERSACE F/W2014 COUTURE COLLECTION

Buckles, chokers, and corsets are a few of the details that amplified the 31 looks shown in the ATELIER VERSACE FALL 2014 COUTURE show on July 6in Paris, France. This season, DONATELLA VERSACE left behind the slinky, draped, Grace Jones-inspired silhouettes of her spring 2014 couture show for a fifties inspired collection.
The looks were severely structured, clicking to the models’ bodies like swimwear. Navy blue, round-shouldered jackets covering boned corsets, paired with shirts or trousers opened the show and set the tone for the immaculate creations that proceeded. Jumpsuits with corseted waists and buckles on the hips were also amongst the beauties of the show. But the piece that left everyone enamored was sleek bustier slit front dress that bared only one of the model’s legs since on side was a trousers and the other a short. To finish, VERSACE flaunted pieces that were simultaneously structured and flowing. Bellowing shirts interwoven and attached to black SWAROVSKI-crystal embellish body suites created the show-stopping ball gowns that closed the show.
There to witness the decadence was Italian VOGUE’s, FRANCA SOZZANI, celebrity JENNIFER LOPEZ who rocked one of the gorgeous designs, and W’s STEPHANO TONCHI. But fashion’s elite won’t be the only ones enjoying the spoils of the PARIS HAUTE COUTURE season.
In the fall, this atelier collection will be hand-made for individual customers and delivered to them to wear. All VERSACE clients will be able to have those flawlessly fitting garments come September. As DONATELLA would say this, “hot couture!”
