Phillip Nuveen in Wonderland: a mini fashion world
The place Phillip Nuveen works and lives in is a world that every girl dreams of, a world filled with the most sought after luxury goods. There’s a Hermes store with its signature purses, ties, and designer books in it; a rolling rack that hangs Chanel’s white crochet dress, with gold lamé gowns, black-and-white tweed skirts, and a classic Chanel flap bag; stacks of Louis Vuitton luggage in brown and white with its signature monogram pattern; and lots of big brand shopping bags: Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Miu Miu, Bergdorf Goodman, etc.
The scale of all the finer things in Phillip’s world; however, is only 1/12 of their original size in the real world. That’s because this talented guy is a 27-year-old designer who creates incredibly realistic looking luxury designer miniatures. It feels like his tiny pieces would only fit in the small, small world in Wonderland where Alice once stumbled upon.
Each of Phillip Nuveen’s creation is made by hand or with the help of a 3D printer. Taking a closer look at the miniatures, it’s easy to tell that an enormous amount of dedication is needed to finish something that is so detailed and realistic. It is hard to imagine how Phillip manages his time to create those little designs in leisure time while still having to work 30 hours a week for his retail job in order to pay the rent. “Yes, it’s no fun to sacrifice time with friends, frivolous activities, or living life in the slow lane. But if you are truly determined, those sacrifices are necessary,” he told Visual News. When asking why he is drawn to high-end fashion design, he explains that his mind is build up to admire the best-designed and most aesthetically pleasing things the world has to offer. “I think a portion of my talent is having good taste, and good taste leads to great selection, whether it be what you wear, where you dine, or where you choose to live and what furnishings you choose to surround yourself with”, he added.
Check out more of Phillip Nuveen’s work on his website. Or get a piece of the amazing and lavish miniature at his Etsy store ASAP before they are all gone!
