Last week, City Harvest held its annual "Bid Against Hunger" event at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City. The evening consisted of samples from the city's best restaurants, wineries, and breweries, where if you were lucky, you could actually brush shoulder's with the chef responsible for your favorite bites.
Every year, the organization collects items for a silent and live auction to allow those who generously donate to City Harvest to receive more than just good karma for helping such a successful and honorable cause. This year, the nearly a thousand attendees raised $1.3 million from auction items like a box of cronuts, a private dinner cooked in your home by Eric Ripert, a walk in Harlem with Marcus Samuelsson, idillyc vacation retreats, and even the ability to tour the set of Law & Order SVU!
Guests included musician Questlove, political activist Rula Jebreal, and the many famous chefs who provided culinary treats like Geoffery Zakarian, Donimique Ansel, Eric Ripert, Marc Murphy, Marcus Samuelsson, Ivy Stark, and Amanda Freitag.
