Chappy's "Dress the D" Halloween Campaign Promoting Safe Sex
The new-on-the-scene dating app Chappy has gained recognition for its mission and success in producing more meaningful connections in the gay dating community. The app includes a mood-based sliding scale to aid users in finding their "Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now." In line with this witty slogan, the app has launched a Halloween campaign entitled "Dress the D" which called upon 15 New York City-based artists for their creative interpretations of costume-themed condoms. The illustrated outcomes range from funny, to clever, to more abstract, and the campaign's well-timed holiday release was marked by a party and silent auction on October 26th. Proceeds from the auction benefited Housing Works, an advocacy group dedicated to fighting for funding and legislation in support of those living with HIV/AIDS.
The complete list of featured artists in the campaign includes Jessica Walsh, Paul Octavious, Rooney, John Mclaughin, Baron Von Fancy, Cute Brute, Amit, Sean O’Connor, Hilton Dresden, Leander Adman, Daniel Zender, Helga, Renegate, Blazo Calovic and Grand Chamaco. Stepping up against the constant barrage of sexual irresponsibility and misconduct that plagues dating app participants, Chappy has created an applaudable and engaging campaign that will hopefully not not only boost their user base, but also spread the meaningful message of safe sex in a lighthearted, shareable form. We hope all will stay safe both in and out of your costumes this Halloween!
