Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti delivers a refreshing dose of dichotomy with the introduction of his Fall/Winter 2017 campaign. Formally titled Le Rouge et Le Noir, the global advertisement highlights the intensely contrasting styles of each distinct pair of shoes through bold poses and a cool, structured feeling. The rich reds of the backdrop set the tone, as top models Bella Hadid and Miles McMillan animate the balance between bold strength and softer provocateur. Both Hadid and McMillan are known for their ability to embrace the polarity of their looks, and each shot is intensified by the unique brand of energy that they bring as muses of the collection. Adding to the list of household names involved, the campaign features collaboration of some of fashion’s most iconic contributors—with styling by Carine Roitfeld and photography by renowned fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. As for the shoes themselves, Giuseppe Zanotti conveys his signature intensity across a broad spectrum of taste. For those in search of the ultralux in feminine footwear, the “Charleston”, a plush pair of feathered pink booties, offers a playful take on serious decadence. Others may find reprieve in the more refined elegance of the “Picard” gold wedges or the clean simplicity of the men’s “Jean-Pierre” loafer. Promising to serve as a “sleek, sensual tour de force,” the full campaign is set for international release by June 2017.
