PERCEIVING THE UNKNOWN: THE BLACK SOFT INTRODUCES BELOW 14TH STREET
DISNEY PRINCESS HIGH FASHION TRANSFORMATION
Once upon a time, a beautiful princess met a charming prince. They fell in love, overcame challenges, lived happily ever after, and then were never heard from again. That’s basically what happens with every Disney princess, but their fans can’t seem to let them go. Dressing as a Disney princess makes girls thrill like no other. Merely watching Emma Watson as Belle in the “Beauty and the Beast” trailer takes our breath away. However, seldom do we see this transformation the other way around – Disney princesses in the modern world. Have you ever wondered, “What if Cinderella wore CHANEL?”
Thanks to one artist on Instagram (@ Cartooncampaigns), this is becoming a reality. She took our beloved Disney princesses, from the old-school stars like Snow White, to the newest generation princesses like Elsa and her sister Anna, but not to forget Cinderella’s evil stepmother or a myriad of other notorious villains. These princesses were placed into today’s biggest fashion labels. Seamlessly combining the worlds of high fashion and cartoon fairy tales, she creates an authentic backdrop for the princesses as they “model” for the most powerful fashion houses whether it be GUCCI, PRADA, DIOR, or CHANEL. Even Stefano Gabbana of DOLCE & GABBANA couldn’t help but to share and repost the work!
A GIVENCHY earring flawlessly fits the personality of Mulan, channeling her edgy, punk attitude. Belle is seen dressed in a knitwear top, posing with LOUIS VUITTON’s double-strapped, chain-twist bag. Standout piece from DOLCE & GABBANA’s AW16 runway show, a power-blue satin dress in red apple print feels as though it were designed with Snow White in mind. As the transformed Princesses tickle the kid-at-heart in us all, the question of who created these masterpieces quickly comes to mind. But the artist insists on remaining mysterious. The only thing we know is that “There is a girl doing all the work, not for fame, not for money, but for hobby. I guess Cinderella is right: “a dream is a wish your heart makes.”
