IKEMEN #5: Matthew Scheier
IKEMEN (ē´k´mɛn): Japanese Slang
"REALLY, REALLY, RIDICULOUSLY GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE"
Name: Matthew Scheier
Profession: Public Relations Account Executive
Origin: I grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Phildadelphia. I moved to NYC about 4 years ago and have been working in Fashion PR for the last 3 years.
Matthew is an Account Executive at MAO PR and lives the life we all strive for (at least for us in fashion). He introduces new talent to the fashion industry, as well as conceptualizing and producing runway shows for top fashion designers. Now it´s time to introduce the man behind the scenes, and to put him on the front page as our IKEMEN for this week.
Your passions:
I'm a pop culture junkie and I kill at movie trivia.
If I weren’t me, I would be:
Jennifer Lawrence.
Best trait about yourself; physically and mentally:
Physically I've been told I have a good smile (with 6 years of braces I would hope so!). Mentally I would consider myself a compassionate person. Life is hard, it pays to be nice to each other!
First thing in the morning:
I pet my cat Oats and grab a coffee to start the day.
Mealtime ritual:
Water! Water! Water! (and every once in a while a Diet Mountain Dew as a treat).
Something you´d never do or give for money:
I would never give my heart away for money.
Have you experienced unrequited love, and what did you do about it:
I have experienced it, and it is not ideal, but I pride myself on being able to find and maintain friendships with those I care about and/or date.
Dream date:
A spontaneous road trip or something adventurous and unexpected is always fun.
Favorite designer:
Skingraft. Their leather jackets never go out of style.
Favorite musician:
I have a wide range of music that I can get down to. While I can't pinpoint my exact favorite musician, I do know that I don't care much for country music!
Favorite restaurant in NYC:
Jane Restaurant, 100 West Houston Street.
