MIU MIU S/S18 PFW READY-TO-WEAR

While there were no show stopping, jaw dropping surprises among the 44 looks presented by Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2018 collection, it was a solid representation of the brand's ethos: beautifully made clothes in lush fabrics and vibrant colors for the quirky, confident girl who is always sexy without ever looking like she's trying too hard.
Color-blocked, opaque knee socks were definitely a thing. Kaia Gerber's socks had mint green around the feet with grey along the shins. She wore them with black huarache-style sandals, a loose navy mini skirt, and a black-and-white print shirt with leather shoulder cut-outs. See what I mean by quirky, confident and sexy all at once? And then there was Adwoah Aboah in loose grey clam diggers and a black blazer with day-glow yellow socks in black buckled sandals. Lily McMenamy, the other daughter of a 90's supermodel to hit the runways in a big way this season, wore red and black color-blocked socks with fringe-beaded heels, and a beaded sheer dress under a black bowed overcoat.
The quirky, confident girls on the Miu Miu runway were lovely, but the Miu Miu girls in the front row were just as much stars of the show. Actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning, Naomie Harris and Julia Garner all wore Miu Miu from head to toe. Each woman was elegant in her own understated way, which is exactly what Miu Miu is all about.
