IKEMEN #13: NATALIE O'BRIEN
IKEMEN (ē´k´mɛn): Japanese Slang
"REALLY, REALLY, RIDICULOUSLY GOOD LOOKING PEOPLE"
Name: Natalie O'Brien
Profession: Costume Designer/Wardrobe Stylist
Origin: Born and raised in the UK. Half Persian (Mothers side) and half English (Daddy's side).
Natalie O'Brien is a free-spirit, wardrobe/costume stylist currently dwelling and working in Los Angeles. When she is not traveling the world this vixen can be seen styling the likes of models and actors on indie films to CBS soap opera sets, and everything in between.
Your passions:
Animation, elephants, the moon, chocolate, kimono's, my family, tartan (plaid), Greece, film and work.
If I weren’t me, I would be:
My sweet old dog, Ginger
Best trait about yourself: physically and mentally:
My always growing amazon hair and my sense of humor.
First thing in the morning:
After getting woken up by the annoying neighbors vacuuming upstairs, every single morning I take a shot of BRAGGS apple cider vinegar diluted in a small cup of water. It gives me an extra 3 to 4 hours of an energy boost for that day and helps me digest my meals heavy or small.
Mealtime ritual:
I like to sit and enjoy and I mean really sit. Meal time does not mean scarf up all your food in one go and run. I would rather wait and find the perfect spot to savor my meal, even if that means my food will get cold. Also sauces and condiments are extremely important and must be in an arms reach at all times.
Something you'd never do or give for money:
I would never kill animals for money. I would never give up my animals for money. I've created an animal Ying Yang.
Have you experienced unrequited love, and what did you do about it:
Hasn't everybody?! Ryan Gosling is the poster child for nearly every woman's (and man's in west Hollywood) unrequited love. It's a very easy feeling to feel. I've felt it. I had it, then I stopped feeling like a creepy loser and moved on to the next one.
Dream date:
Probably something involving elephants and Kimono's. I'm a simple gal you know.
Favorite designer:
YSL. Classic, chic, and will never go out of style.
Favorite musician:
Royksopp. I'm obsessed. Maybe I should have put them in my passions.
Favorite restaurant in NYC:
Freemans. THE BEST warm artichoke dip. End of story, go try it now.
