"Cheng-Huai Chuang was introduced to fashion at a young age"
Cheers to the Weekend After Parties
Saturday night was definitely the highlight of New York Fashion Week’s after parties, and several A-list designers host parties on the same night and, perhaps purposely, in the same, chic Meatpacking district (so people can easily bounce between them).
Prabal Gurung hosted his party in the newly opened Up&Down nightclub, like so many others, and the party was, again like so many others, blasting the entire night. To put a royal twist on it, and adorably mocking the streaker that ran onto the stage during his show wearing a crown, there was plastic crowns for everyone to be worn at the party, and Prabal certainly showed us how to throw a good party.
Max Azria and his wife Lubov celebrated two successful shows, BCBGMAXAZRIA and HERVÉ LEGÉR by BCGC, by throwing their party at the very extravagant Boom Boom Room.
Perhaps the biggest party of them all, Alexander Wang, hosted his party at the Gilded Lily next to Chelsea Market. There was an everlasting flow of models, like Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn, and fashion socialites not caring about their early wake up time Sunday morning.
The list of parties is not over yet, and all the way uptown there was another party starting. At the American Museum of Natural History, G-Star RAW hosted a classy, gala-like party with Pharrell as their face of the night.
Mara Hoffman also hosted a party, and down in Soho the crowd was no less fun. Other celebrity spotting during the night was Paris Hilton (present as usual), Nina Dobrev, Joe Jonas, Russel Simmons, and Derek Blasberg.
Sunday brought more fun, starting with Public School, who had good reason to celebrate after their fashion show down at Milk Studios. They held their party full of interesting peopley at Up&Down on 14th Street. This club has had a Fashion Week party every single night, and with its amazing venue, there is no wonder why the designers want to gather New York’s fashion elite there.
The Israelian designer Yigal Azrouël, also chose to end the week with a bang, and hosted his party where Todd Snyder had their party earlier this week, at Bar Naná. Yet again, the fashion and publishing crowd came flowing in the doors, and the party was very elegant and successful.
Tracy Reese chose a slightly different route, and hosted her Fashion Week after party at one of the top clubs in the city, 1OAK in Meatpacking. With great music and an even better crowd, any party at 1OAK is sure to be a success.
