“A hat can be dangerous. Like the right perfume, it may reveal something you didn’t know was there,” says Lola Ehrlich, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Knitting, who has also worked with stellar photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier and Mario Testino.
Her studio is located in the hub of the Bushwick art scene. Additionally, her commute on the L subway line and the picture collection at the public library have spiraled ideas for this designer.
Lola’s hat making inspiration was a result of the craftsmanly use of dye, basket weaving, glassblowing, and an artisan who makes ivory piano keys. These techniques, coupled with her stylish and exquisite taste, capture the essence of her hats for everyone.
