TWELV HOROSCOPE SS14 #4: LILAC

Pastel shades are typical of the spring, this season one particular pastel hue floating down many runways is lilac. From delicate sheers to airy cottons, the violet tone translates effortlessly in a variety of styles and shapes. Burberry featured several lace looks in their warm weather line up, sheer lace combined with the ultrafeminine color made for sweet and sexy looks. A plunging neckline was an unexpected touch to Jil Sander’s casual lilac frock, while Zac Posen's soft purple hue and sculptural lines evoke casual romanticism. Prabal Gurung’s take on lilac was high drama, featuring a saturated lilac stripe with a matching lip. This spring's standout pastel is ladylike with a bite.
