Sherlock Goes Sixties In MIU MIU Pre-Fall 2015

Miuccia Prada got a bit groovy with her pre-fall 2015 installation at the Palais d’Iéna. The set piece: drab olive green and washed out yellow set against tacky retro wallpaper. It’s a room that Sean Connery’s James Bond could’ve been briefed for a mission in, and it lends itself perfectly to Miu Miu’s pre-fall 2015 exhibition.
Generously thick heels and knee-highs lead up to heavily patterned skirts. Think Fembot, or a secretary in Mad Men. Thick cardigans and semi-masculine geometrically accented blazers cover earth-tone turtlenecks. The accompanying bags are hefty and display various leather tones and finishes; one in particular playfully resembles an archaic file folder. And on top, Prada placed inspector caps reminiscent of a very famous English detective from a bygone era. The result is undeniably unique and radiates eccentricity and intelligence.
