The runway is a facade for designers to stage their vision, the strictly choreographed back-and-forth of models shinning a never-ending flow of clothes.
SAINT LAURENT SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION

Saint Laurent Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello wanted to “focus on the essence of things”, and he delivered. The Summer 2021 Saint Laurent Collection takes place in the desert. The sand blows over the footsteps and creates a new ground for the next model to walk on. There was a gentleness to the collection, Vaccarello said “I didn’t want anything bleak or heavy. The desert, to me, symbolizes that yearn for serenity, open space, a slower rhythm. The clothes are also softer, the spirit of the collection is more gentle, stripped back”. The collection is light and easy on the eyes as it gracefully outlines the body without constricting it. There is an effortless combination of chiffon and fringe, silk and faux fur. A sheer shift top, psuedo austere jumpsuit with a statement belt, polka dot stockings, etc are all on display. Smooth velvety blacks, liberated whites, and solid reds assume the collection. Vaccarello’s work combines elegance and ease. Saint Laurent Summer 2021 is fancy but freeing.
