New Era for Marc Jacobs Beauty and NARS
Mature models are becoming more common as contemporary icons of fashion and beauty companies. Several recent campaigns, like Linda Rodin in The Row’s look-book, have created momentum for the trend. Catherine Deneuve’s starred in Marc Jacob's last campaign for Louis Vuitton’s S/S '14 and L’Oreal chose Academy Award winning actress Diane Keaton as their representitive of beauty since 2006. NARS and Marc Jacobs Beauty have recently followed suit, announcing their new faces will also contribute to this emerging genre. Actresses Charlotte Rampling, for NARS, and Jessica Lange, for Marc Jacobs Beauty, are impeccably representing not only the brands but also their sophisticated age bracket.
British award-winning actress, Charlotte Rampling, was chosen to be the face of NARS’ F/W '14 campaign. The actress, who is fluent in French, Italian and English, continues to be celebrated in Europe after over fifty years in the industry. The images have yet to be released but we are positive she will look radiant and dynamic in the ads.
Marc Jacobs’ choice, Jessica Lange, started her acting career in 1976 and has been awarded two Academy Awards, two Emmys and five Golden Globes. The All-American beauty’s campaign was shot by David Sims, a veteran in the field of beauty photography.
This refreshing development creates relatable content for consumers, as well as sparks attention for brands within the previously predictable industry.
