The runway is a facade for designers to stage their vision, the strictly choreographed back-and-forth of models shinning a never-ending flow of clothes.
MARC JACOBS S/S2016 EYEWEAR COLLECTION

Eyewear is a stroke of color that accents an outfit. It’s also one of the few accessories where irregular shapes and designs and quirkiness thrive. And in designer Marc Jacobs’ spring and summer 2016 eyewear collection, that features a healthy amount of futuristic designs and color combinations, there’s another offering of his humorous, relaxed aesthetic.
The collection is composed of optical frames and sunglasses that introduce a mixture of structure, mood, and material that challenge conventional ideas about how eyewear should look. Take the Marc 1/S sunglasses, for example, which feature frames decorated with studs and nylon fiber structures meshed with graphic lines that blend architecture and lightness.
Within the Marc 34/S and Marc 38/S sunglasses is a simple design that uses subtlety in color and frame to achieve a modern look. A flat metal frame and bold and slim lines combine to tweak the rote design of pilot and round sunglasses. The women’s round design’s palette features black with grey lenses, white with dark grey lenses, and light pink with light blue lenses. Men’s aviators are available in black with grey lenses, green with grey lenses, and ruthenium/blue-green with blue lenses. With opulent Swarovski crystals and adjustable slim metal temples for a comfortable fit, the Marc 16/S sunglasses embody high fashion. The round lenses are encased in lightweight frames whose corners are exaggerated, producing a “cat-eye” effect.
There are many more color combinations, shapes, and designs in Marc Jacobs’ 2016 eyewear collection that exemplify his modern, playful fashion tastes. Each pair is an example of the meticulous, artisan vibe of the designer’s unique style.
