The runway is a facade for designers to stage their vision, the strictly choreographed back-and-forth of models shinning a never-ending flow of clothes.
Marc Jacobs NYFW S/S2017 ready-to-wear

At Marc Jacobs, the hemlines keep rising and so do the platforms. Of course, they are accompanied by bright masterful designs, but the standout attributes place this spring 2017 collection in a distinguished class.
Sporting candy-colored dreadlocks and shimmery pastels from head to toe, the models sashayed down the runway to the tune of a legendary rave. Further adding to the party effect were thousands of glimmering suspended lights against a hazy purple backdrop.
Glittering sequins, metallic zebra prints, and embroidered lace stood out among the many mini-dresses. Staying true to the higher hemline aesthetic, there were satin hot pants and ruffled miniskirts accompanied by printed thigh highs. British artist, Julie Verhoeven, added to the designs by placing her graphic appliqués on cashmere sweatshirts and python shoulder bags.
This collection proved once again that there’s no one who creates such a spectacular runway show – or a rave – quite like Marc Jacobs.
