LOUIS VUITTON COLLABORATES WITH FIFA

Football and fashion may seem like two fields that never intertwine. But in actuality, both industries have come together in the past and will continue to do so in the future. LOUIS VUITTON is carrying on that tradition with the custom-made truck the French brand designed for this year’s WORLD CUP trophy. Before the final game of the month-long tournament, the trophy housed in the case covered in the iconic LOUIS VUITTON monogram, will be transported to the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.The trunk opens from the front and at the top to allow the trophy to be easily removed to give to the captain of the winning team on the final day of the cup.
In 2010, LOUIS VUITTON’s first collaboration with football heavyweight, FIFA, was conceived with the creation of a travelling case for the trophy, which was awarded to Spain in South Africa. The French firm has also worked with the America’s Cup for the same purposes. These projects come as no surprise since there are approximately 450 special orders of this kind each year, meaning it represents a core section of the 150-year-old trunkmaker’s business.
In the future, football and fashion fans alike will be on the lookout for more thrilling partnerships that continue to bring the two worlds together.
