"KENZO FW15 Campaign Short Film By Gregg Araki” Progeny of Mastermind

KENZO’s designer duo Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have never failed to impress. From their beginnings they were able to revolutionize the fashion scene, their adventurous designs always shine through every fashion week with innovation and dynamism. Recently, the duo teamed up with the legendary filmmaker Gregg Araki to write and direct a short film highlighting KENZO’s fall collections for women and men.
Araki is known for his unique vision and cult movies like “The Doom Generations” where Rose McGowan shined as Amy Blue, created the most unusual scenes but ones that were so influential. Araki's artistic use of explicitly and religion in his films have added a unique element to his work throughout the years. The designers have asked the director to revisit his 1990s teen apocalypse trilogy “Nowhere.” Featuring the same style and frame-of-mind of the film to promote the collection, Araki created "Here Now” for KENZO’s fall 2015 campaign.
The looks in "Here Now” are all from KENZO’s Fall 2015 collection and aimed to complement the characters and plot from the film’s edgy outlook on teenage rebellion, sexuality, and religion. The soundtrack made the film even more sensational. KENZO’s fall 2015 collection was lustful yet pure, casual yet intense, and refined yet easy to wear. “They have a comic book visual sense and over-the-top style. I think that is what appeals to fashion people’s sensibility.” says Araki about KENZO. The collection was in harmony with the film radiating teen apocalyptic themes, KENZO’s artistic perspective in this collection has blended with Araki's point of view in the short film "Here Now”.
The film features a cast of young actors alums like Jacob Artist, Jane Levy, Grace Victoria Cox, Jake Weary, Avan Jogia, and Nicole Laliberte.
