The runway is a facade for designers to stage their vision, the strictly choreographed back-and-forth of models shinning a never-ending flow of clothes.
Fendi Fall/Winter 2014 Campaign backstage shots
For FENDI’s fall/winter 2014 campaign, KARL LAGERFELD stepped behind the cameras to shoot the ad. The campaign entitled,“ROMAN ARCHES”, is set in the iconic PALAZZO DELLA CIVILTÀ ITALIANA, future roman headquarter of the luxury house and pays homage FENDI's richness and the highest standards of craftsmanship, especially in FENDI furs, and to the eternal city, Rome
LAGERFELD states, “For FENDI Fall/Winter 2014-15 advertising campaign, I chose Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, because it is one of the most graphic building in the world and one of the most famous building of modern Rome. This campaign expresses what Fendi is about for next Fall. It is very Italian, it is very roman, it is very luxurious but at the same time it has a modern and young approach.”
But the location wasn’t his only exceptional choice. Top models NADJA BENDER and ASHLEIGH GOOD are featured in the campaign. Together the two both embody the spirit of the collection, posing strong and seductive with the PALAZZO DELLA CIVILTÀ ITALIANA as their backdrop.
The juxtaposition of the clean hard lines of the PALAZZO DELLA CIVILTÀ ITALIANA and the soft luxurious furs showcased in the ad create captivating visuals that are so essential in fashion today. FENDI’s iconic bags such as the PEEKABOO, 2JOURS, THE 3JOURS, and the new BY THE WAY are also presented in the ad.
The fall/winter advertising campaign, comprising 14 single and double-page visuals, will break in the August 2014 issues of worldwide magazines.
