Marc Jacobs recently announced his plan to release a “sister” perfume to his already wildly popular Daisy scent. Launching in July, the new scent called Dot will mix sweet notes like dragon fruit, berries, honeysuckle, vanilla and orange blossom; for a unique smell very different from his other heavily floral scents. "There’s a juicy, lush quality to it because it felt like the right spirit for this bottle," Marc Jacobs told WWD. The bottle, a ladybug with butterflies landing on it, plays into the lighthearted spirit of the scent. And the campaign shot by Juergen Teller, features Codie Young; bare faced, wan and wide-eyed in the Maldives emanating a youthful, and modern spirit.
Why the name Dot? Marc describes his love of dots and the significance of the ladybug as his “muse” for the perfume. “A dot is timeless and a pattern I always love, and round shapes are always beautiful. I liked the idea of these hybrid butterfly-ladybugs, which suggest a sort of free spirit and femininity and playfulness. And, of course, ladybugs mean good luck," (WWD).
We at TWELV love everything Marc Jacobs does, and cant wait to get our hands on the perfume in July!
