Dior's Spring-Summer 2021 ready-to-wear collection hints at societal transformation and global relevance. "The Creative Director of Dior women’s collections is compelled by a dual movement: that of life, and that of fashion." The eclectic pieces serve the body of the woman wearing them, and simultaneously reflect current events. Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri transformed the Dior profile to respect its legacy, "the subversive radicality of its origins." She extracted inspiration from female poets, authors, philosophers, authors, etc. who illustrate life and emotion through their writing. The pieces are versatile and may reflect the intimacy of a home or the austere atmosphere of work. Dior's resolutely "fluid fabrics envelop, without hardening, each body in a continuous alchemy of techniques and materials: silk chiffon for long dresses in shades of light, matte blue, deep ocher and pale orange; chiffon embellished with beaded embroidery. The waist is accentuated with smocking, or dropped, to oscillate freely with the idea of beauty and complexity simultaneously marked by tradition and by the current context that permeates this collection." There is a cut and colour, fit and flare for every woman.
