After the release of THE WEEKND’s Beauty Behind the Madness, fans are impatiently awaiting his next big move. Now, ABEL TESFAYE, the Grammy-winning artist, has finally unveiled the cover art for his new album, STARBOY. With his game-changing new hair do, Tesfaye is in dark blue and black tones, set against a bright red backdrop and mustard “starboy” text above. Just pause for a moment and realize the fact that he elected to chop off his signature dreadlocks into a shorter and more angular hairstyle, what is also worth noticing here is the jewelry, which effortlessly elevates his style to a whole new level and makes him look rather dashing.
All the fashionistas can easily tell that the custom earrings, rings, and the necklace are all from the LA-based rock edgy fashion brand, CHROME HEARTS. First conceived in 1988, Chrome Heart has been expanding at an astonishing speed and it is now undoubtedly one of the pillars of luxury jewelry. It shuns publicity in a way the most well known celebrities crave it – i.e. Jay-Z, Karl Lagerfeld, Gigi Hadid, Angelina Jolie, Steve Hones, Britney Spears, and a lot more.
The striking crucifix necklace on Tesfaye is probably the most eye-catching piece, featuring a bold Latin cross with crystals embellished along the outline and an x-cross superimposed on the center, which adds on notions of non-conformism, empowerment, and daring to the look. The rings are probably the biggest hint for recognizing the brand's name at first glance, as they showcase CH’s most signature flower cross motif, finishing up his look with a seamless melding of gothic and chic.
Aside from everything we’ve talked about, The Weeknd’s girlfriend, BELLA HADID, will definitely give it her approval. As a matter of fact, Bella is not only a big fan of Chrome Heart, but also a best friend of JESSO JO, the founder Richard Stark's daughter, who has already started helming the brand.
