CHANEL Métiers d’Art DALLAS SHOW

As if Lagerfeld did not have enough on his agenda throughout the year, he decided to go over the top fabulous with a Dallas cowboy-inspired theme for Chanel’s pre-fall 2014 show.

The show was an amazing collection of cowboy and western movies influenced costumes, all with the Chanel twist Lagerfeld is famous for. The show included both women and men clothes, and it's likely Chanel just started a fashion-wide cowboy trend with this collection.

The iconic brand is known for having their pre-fall show fully encompassed around a theme that is important to Chanel’s history. This years show, which took place on December 10, was no exception. Lagerfeld chose the all-American city Dallas as the show's location, as it played an important role in Coco Chanel’s career. Previous shows have been held in, and inspired by, cities like London, Moscow, Shanghai, and the ancient greek city Byzantium.

It came as no surprise that the runway was filled with international supermodels, like Lindsay Wixson, Joan Smalls and Georgia May Jagger. The front row was of course packed with celebrities, such as Dakota Fanning, Lily Collins, and the Vogue Fashion Royal Family, to enjoy Lagerfeld’s ingenuity.

After the show, Lagerfeld also annouced that ”Twilight” actress Kristen Stewart will be the face of Chanel for their 2014 campaign. Lagerfeld is known for picking celebrities for his campaigns, and Stewart will be walking in the footsteps of actresses Keira Knightly and Diana Kruger.
