You can always count on Karl Lagerfeld to create some major intrigue! Just when you think you've seen it all, he shows it's only half time and that he remains a force to be reckoned with. Putting on a stunning, eclectic, confounding, yet expected 2016/2017 fall/winter couture fashion show, was nothing compared to the details! Designs included sheer fabric, tweeds, woven patterns, and eye catching colors. The extravagant looks displayed ingenuity at its best; intricate detailing, various necklines, tediously tailored jackets/coats, capes, awesome dress designs, two piece sets, and captivating beading. The show was edgy yet executed so elegantly!
Karl Lagerfeld is known for his demanding yet gravitational show settings, from a carousel scene, to under the sea, an art gallery, even a global experience theme through out the years. But this 2016/2017 fall/winter couture show was not only entertaining, but insightful. The theme displayed the different inside aspects of the industry and design process. Silk and taffeta placed amongst the walls revealed sketches from Karl's famous story board. Not to mention that the audience got to experience the fitting process, seamstress sitting at sewing machines silently, and an experience simply bringing light and appreciation to "petit mains." The 32 piece collection effortlessly embodied geometric inspiration from the triangularly dimensional jackets, to the trapeze jackets, and even in the unique angular hems. All the looks were accompanied by suede knee high boots with elbow length gloves that added just the right touch to each look! Karl Lagerfeld has yet again added another successful show to his long list of hits, this show will surely go down in fashion history.
