After being crowned a Chanel ambassador and electrifying the steps of the Met Gala in a car coat and clamdiggers this year, the ever creative and always fierce, Willow Smith, recently landed her first Chanel campaign and modeled for the fashion company’s fall-winter 2016/17 eyewear campaign.
Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, Smith brings her trendsetting vibes to the house of Chanel. Enveloped in accessories from the Ready-to-Wear collection, accented in crisp black and white, the latest muse of the French house is poised comfortably in front of the camera, blending with the minimalist background in short, simple movements. In one video, an eye pendant swings from her neck as she peers out from oversized sunglasses. And in another, she models sharp, jet black optics, with frames revealed in full with her dreads in a smart up-do.
While Willow is no stranger to high profile modeling, having been photographed for Marc Jacobs a year ago, her “youth and energy,” according to Chanel, breathes fresh air into the luxury house; her charisma and laid-back attitude will mesh well with the iconic fashion house.
The new sunglasses and optical designs are currently available on the Chanel website and boutiques.
