The runway is a facade for designers to stage their vision, the strictly choreographed back-and-forth of models shinning a never-ending flow of clothes.
BARNEY'S ELECTRIC HOLIDAY SPREADS PIXIE DUST, FASHION DREAMS DO COME TRUE!

Fashion can be one of the most intrinsic forms of living out our fantasies: the simplicity of throwing on a leather studded perfecto can make us feel like we’re mosh-pitting at CBGB’s, or perhaps just simply donning a pair of Stella McCartney clear Lucite heels (the ones from SS’13) we can channel having our own Cinderella moment, complete with a lusting Prince Charming. Perhaps then, it is all too fitting that Barney’s has teamed up with Disney, the quintessential purveyor of fairytales, for their newest Holiday Window display, Electric Holiday. The windows at Barneys are complete with fulgurant light displays that sparkle both day and night and swirl around multiple television screens. In some windows you can watch vintage Disney cartoons and in others check out the limited edition Electric Holiday merchandise (holiday stockings, candy, and tote bags as well as Vinylmation Mickey Mouse figurines designed by designers such as Paul Smith and Diane Von Furstenberg). The primary showcase window features a 5 minute animated short created by Disney to highlight this exceptional collaboration.
In the clever short, Minnie is seen lusting over a gorgeous Lanvin dress (one reminiscent to the one Aymelene Valade so sultry strutted down the catwalk last season) in the window of a Parisian department store, and with a little help from our favorite faerie, Tinker Bell, and some pixie dust, of course, Minnie is transported to live out her ultimate fashion fantasy. Flown over to the catwalks of Paris Fashion week, we see Disney-ified versions of some of fashion’s elite and most influential tastemakers: Carine Roitfeld, Anna Dello Russo, Suzy Menkes, Julien D’Ys, Pat McGrath, and Linda Evangelista, to name just a few. Next we’re behind the scenes of a Parisian fashion show and thanks again to the help of a little Pixie Dust, Mickey, Cruella DeVille, Snow White, Goofy, Daisy, Tiana, and of course Minnie Mouse, get fashion makeovers and skulk the catwalk wearing looks by Balenciaga by Nicholas Ghesquiere, Rick Owens, Nina Ricci by Peter Copping, Balmain by Olivier Rousteing, Dolce & Gabbana, Proenza Schouler, and Lanvin by Alber Elbaz, respectively. Don’t we all need a little Pixie Dust this season to make our fashion fantasies come true?
