André Leon Talley's Little Black Dress

Former editor-at-large for Vogue and well-known influential fashion personality, André Leon Talley is now editor-in-chief of Numero Russia and continues as contributing editor of Vogue online. Talley’s newest book, LITTLE BLACK DRESS, was released on April 12th.
“With every mood shift and proportion change of each collection, the little black dress morphs into a new character, season after season. Always”- Marc Jacobs. The main part of a woman’s wardrobe is the little black dress (a.k.a. LBD) because it is essential and you can take it anywhere and it defines femininity and elegance.
Talley fans aggregated in celebration at Marc Jacob’s West Village bookstore, Bookmarc, for the signing and a congratulatory champagne toast. The location was an especially befitting host since the book featured Marc Jacob's infamous black Commes Des Garçons lace dress. Guests lined up armed with books and gifts for Talley, including a Karl Lagerfeld necklace and a portrait of the author. Robert Verdi, Arianna Huffington and Lorenzo Martone were amongst the guests in attendance.
The book includes more than 80 iconic dresses from various elite fashion houses—Carolina Herrera, Joseph Altuzzara, Oscar de la Renta, Yves Saint Laurent, L Wren Scott and many more. Talley’s accomplishment with his new endeavor will resonate as a prized possession.
