THE STREETERS #55

Although last Winter felt like it would last forever, Summer has finally hit New York City. And since the weather in the city is always unpredictable, layering is best way to keep yourself stylish and protected from the sudden weather changes. Despite the right temperature, black is still running the fashion scene in the city. Leather and jeans jackets paired with lightweight t-shirts, tailored pants and mom jeans are among the things the TWELV team saw on the streets.

WOMEN 360's model, Stacey Grant, found the perfect way to create a model off-duty kind of outfit, with a simple color palette, black and grey, she combined heavy elements like leather shorts and boots with a playful lightweight t-shirt, and a black wide brim hat. Sales Associate at Dior, Robbie Cantonwine, absolutely nailed the combination suit & sneakers, the sharp tailored navy blue suit kept the his style serious, while the white sneakers and the headphones added a playful vibe to his look. I absolutely love how actor Michael Longo paired a short sleeve button down floral with dark denims and heavy boots.

Kayla Monetta kept an 80’s vibe with her denim jacket, striped button down shirt and black high waisted pants and black booties. Michelle Tse, a multidisciplinary designer, created a very summerish look by pairing tailored striped pants with a basic white shirt, a long necklace and platforms, her hairdo was definitely the cherry on the top. It’s sort of a reminder that although New Yorkers always have that vibe “too cool for Summer”, we do love to enjoy the year’s hottest season, we just do it different, by pairing light and heavy elements.

One thing we know for sure, summer is one of the most open seasons when it comes to fashion. So whether you really want to follow the biggest trends or just your guts and personal style, feel free to do so and enjoy the high temperatures. And don’t forget the sunblock!!
