If we may be so bold as to introduce Motive’s new EP, It’s Illicit. This EP reflects the surreal experiences Lead vocalist Nick Wold, bassist Andrew McGovern, guitarist David Leondi and drummer Chris Bagamery garnered leaving jazz behind in Seattle for Brooklyn’s indie music scene. With lyrics ambivalent to the realities of a twentysomething existence and a Strokes-worthy dirty rock grit, these tracks cement Motive as a true Brooklynite sound.

For maximum happiness skip to the ‘It’s Illicit’ Remix first. The video for this track is filled with more dance genres than a So You Think You Can Dance opening number (with better music, of course).
This Tuesday Motive headlines Mercury Lounge with Spirit Animal, Starlight Girls, and Indigo Wild. You can also find Motive at SXSW this festival season.
