Yigal Azrouël NYFW F/W 2016 Ready-to-Wear
Who does’t want to be a YIGAL girl? A girl who is modern yet classy, strong yet enchanting, radiant yet genuine. No matter if it is the sleek design of the off-shoulder collar and cutout top, the retro motif of the creeping vine and paisley pattern, or the luxurious use of the jacquard and brocade fabric, Yigal Azrouël never fails to provide a new definition of ideal femininity.
Speaking of the inspiration of this collection, especially the manipulation of the dark color palette, Azrouël said “When you are in the dark, you see the light.” Of course, this metaphor of light and dark is not only about the colors - it is also about the muse behind the scene, “a girl who has innocence, but also a real darkness.” When the model first appeared on the stage, the delicate details on the dark garment were not as noticeable as her dramatic smoldering eyes. However, as she approached, the overwhelmingly exquisite semi-transparent lace and burnout velvet brought about a whole new perspective. The look, just like the YIGAL girl, was dazzling from the first sight, but it had far more to it that was yet to be discovered.
