METRO GIRL
The "Metro Girl" represents Surrealism in fashion by taking an everyday object and tranforming it into a form of art. The metro card iconically represents the daily lives of millions of commuters, up to 7 million a day to be specific. With that iconic yellow and blue card in mind, TWELV Magazine used over 3,000 metro cards to create this 6-foot-tall masterpiece gown, and was also inspired through an Alexander McQueen Spring '13 ready-to-wear dress. There is always a story behind each metro card that a New Yorker, tourist or vistor carries with them, so this dress not only represents over 3,000 metro cards but more than 3,000 individual stories. TWELV Magazine is available at select newsstands and bookstores in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toyko and at twelvmag.com.
