MARC JACOBS NYFW F/W18 READY-TO-WEAR

For Marc Jacobs Fall-Winter 2018 collection, a foreign kind of drama played out on the runway this season. The brand delivered a carefully crafted cocktail of “gestures, broad strokes, and silhouettes expressed in rich and gorgeous fabrics” that kept our tastebuds guessing down to the last drop. Simultaneously portrayed with the dark flair of a villainess and the pure elegance of the heroine, the Marc Jacobs woman was presented as a complex vision of modern beauty. A dance between romance and danger, sharp hats paired with cutting haircuts were met with lush textures and romantic contours. The house also paid homage to its more exotic elements, with models made up in ‘See Quins Glam Glitter’ eye shadow in deep jewel tones and the labels’ signature high shine nail polish. Colors, fabrics, and shapes were in abundance for every look of the show, and if only one thing can be said with certainty of Marc Jacobs designs this season, its that they left nothing unsaid.
