Diesel's new Successful Living collection for Fall 2013 was not only revolutionary in its interpretations of what you need for your chic home, but in its production. The collection featured pieces made by four influential Italian designers-Foscarini, Moroso, Zucchi, and Scavolini-who brought innovation and individualism to home furniture and furnishings.
Foscarini's most notable contribution to this collecton was his creation of the Glass Drop suspension lamp that doubles as a mirror and light fixture. The piece is indicative of a functional, utilitarian design, as it can be hung alone or with others to create a decorative installation in your home even when not in use. His other pieces function as interactive art-the design elevates them to more than just light fixtures.
Moroso created fashionable furniture for the collection, specifically vintage-inspired chairs and innovative headboards that create a small "shelter" for the sitter or sleeper. His pieces could be transplanted into different parts of a home due to their size and available color palettes. His version of Diesel's best-selling Cloud Atlas sofa allows fashionistas to have a leather sofa as reliable and comfortable as their favorite leather jacket. Out of all the designers, his pieces could probably incorporated most easily with what you already have in your bedroom or living room as they do not require custom spaces or additional features.
Scavolini's pieces for Successful Living revolved around the kitchen and its new identity as a "social and fun" room. The goal of creating modern, casual designs that bring excitment to the sometimes banal kitchen space allowed for Italian creativity and beauty. The pieces are able to function on their own but also together, creating a uniform, clean aesthetic with reliable materials.
